Milestone achievement! UNILAG becomes first Nigerian University to obtain TV license!

The University of Lagos(UNILAG) Akoka, has been granted license to operate a television station thereby becoming the first Nigerian University to achieve such wonderful feat. 

According to Ralph Akinfeleye, a professor and Chairman of UNILAG Radio and TV, put this forth in an interview. 

Akinfeleye confirmed that the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, granted the TV licence to the institution on Thursday, November 9.

And thus invited members of the university community to the commissioning of the TV scheduled to hold (today) Saturday, November 11 at the Department of Mass Communication of the university.

In similar vein, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Rahman Bello, on behalf of the university management, congratulated members of staff, students and the entire university community on the milestone.

This milestone achievement and precedent is second of such nature as the Mass Communication department of UNILAG equally pioneered the first Radio station (in University)
